Looking to welcome 2-3 parents or family members into our classroom to help teach and guide small groups of students (tribes) in the game of Yahtzee.
Our focus is two fold. We will be learing about conflict resoultion and cooperation in our classroom community, but also experiencing the mathematics behind the game. Your role would be to help teach the game to students, if you can bear the sound of dice beating the cup over and over again!
Once you know which class your child has been assigned, come see me if you are able to help us out on Friday September 2nd from 9:20-10:20am! Or, you could post a comment here, on our blog! You decide.

Many of you have taken advantage of the online component of our math program. If you would like access to your account, please email me for your login information.
Our math program is more than a math program! Once you are able to access your account, please navigate ALL of the resources you have available at the click of your mouse. It will be important for you to become quite familiar with the CLASSROOM RESOURCES and RESEARCH CENTER. Your screen should include links that look exactly like the ones in this photo.

I hope you are enjoying your last three weeks of summer vacation. The weather is finally cooperating, providing the warm sunshine the plants in our school garden so desperately needed. That’s right, you will be responsible for some part of the McDonald School garden as a sixth grader in Mr. Carhart’s classroom!
I have three more weeks of training for my Ironman competition in Canada on August 28th. At this point, my training is starting to lighten up as to prepare my body for the feat that Sunday. Don’t worry, I will be at school on day one to greet you!
I am happy to introduce Mr. Jaquish, our student teacher. I have learned he is very creative and talented musically. He is enthusiastic about teaching sixth grade and being at McDonald School. Please extend a warm DUCK welcome when you meet him.
In the meantime, if you have any questions about our sixth grade program at McDonald School, please email me or Mrs. Parce at carhartb@msd281.org or jparce@msd281.org.
We look forward to meeting you!
